Can we Want the Benefit, Without the Connection?

There was a very rich man, who had very high standards, but who was also very generous.

The rich man wanted to share the good things that he had, so share he did.

Many received many good things from the rich man, because the rich man was so generous.

Some also enjoyed just being with the rich man. These people got to enjoy the benefits that the rich man shared, whilst enjoying, being in the presence of the rich man. (Connection)

But, there was some people who were just, irritated by the rich man in some way. The rich man did have such high standards after all, and they felt that they could be a bit hard to live up to. Some just thought the rich man was a bit strange, and couldn’t understand why he would want to live, as he did?

So, there was a group of people, who liked the benefit that they could receive from the rich man, but would rather, just not have to be around him, too much.

They wanted the benefit, but without the connection.

If you were the rich man, then how would you deal with those people who wanted the benefits, without the connection?

(Is this a moment to be thankful that Our Lord God, is so much better than us???)

Our Lord God Almighty, is the ultimate generous rich man. He has blessed us all with many, many good gifts.

But just how much of a connection are we looking to make with, Our Lord God Almighty?

If we can be honest with ourselves, then are we looking more for the benefits, or the connection?

My Lord God Almighty, Please help me to have a right focus. To be more focused on just being with You, and hearing and following Your ways, above all. Amen.
