A parent gives a child a task to do.
The task is a bit too much for the child.
The child struggles with the task, even though the child is enjoying the task in many ways.
The parent could complete the task in a much better, and more efficient way.
But, what happens next?
Will You Walk With, Or Take it Away?
The responsibility for the task, remains with the parent!
If the child makes a mess of things, the parent is there to make things good.
The child has no need to worry about, “What if I messed this up?” As the parent is at hand to lead and guide the child, as is needed. Hopefully the child will listen to the parent’s guidance.
If the task really is too much for the child, then the parent will step in and take over. Will the child gladly step back, as the loving parent goes in, to make things right?
If the child reaches a point of frustration and declares, “I just can’t do it!” But the loving parent knows better. When the parent comes along side the worn out child, and encourages it, and shows it how to go forward, and even helps with the process, will the child, work with the loving parent, trusting and knowing that the loving parent knows best?
In our live, we may find that we can be in the role of both the child, and the loving parent, at different times in our lives.
If we are in the role of helping and leading someone into something new, will we be able to be a better loving parent? Will we try to keep frustrations outside of the room, and only try to help, lead and guide, as it is needed? Will we try to not take over, but only do so, if it is really necessary?
If we are in the role of the child, will we try to accept help and guidance, as it is given? (Hopefully from a loving parent.) Will we be able to know when we can trust, the one who is leading and guiding us, and then follow, said guidance?
Whatever role we are playing out in our lives, will we know that, Our Lord God, is Our Heavenly Father, who is the Best Loving Parent, of all time! Will we be able to trust and follow, as Our Heavenly Father, leads and guides us, on our ways to go?
John 10:27-28
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
