There was a man who had a pound. He loved his pound and treasured it. £10,000 pounds was offered to him. But in order for him to take hold of the £10,000, he had to let go of the pound he treasured.
He wanted the the £10,000, but because he just would not let go of the pound, he was unable to take the £10,000, even though it was waiting for him to take hold of it.
Can we sometimes be like the man in the above picture?
Father has such a richness for us to move into. But sometimes we just won’t let go of …..
If Father is asking us to hand something over to Him, then He is asking us to do this for our own good.
He Does have such a richness for us to walk into and take hold of, if we will just follow His ways.
One thing which Father tells us to let go of is grudges and unforgiveness. (There are other things He asks us to let go of.)
Holding onto grudges and unforgiveness only stops us from entering into a greater peace that IS available to us.
Whatever it is that Father is asking you to hand over to Him, just hand it over to Him. You can always ask for His help to let go, if you need to. He is always there to help you, and just longs for you to call out to Him.
He has so much more for all who will follow his ways.
If you are in any doubt then have a read of Psalm 81, verses 10 to 16 are below.
10 I am the Lord your God,
who brought you up out of Egypt.
Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
11 “But my people would not listen to me;
Israel would not submit to me.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts
to follow their own devices.
13 “If my people would only listen to me,
if Israel would only follow my ways,
14 how quickly I would subdue their enemies
and turn my hand against their foes!
15 Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
16 But you would be fed with the finest of wheat;
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
Honey from the rock, which will satisfy you, is available to all who will follow Father’s ways.
In other words, good things and blessings for those who will seek the Lord, their God.
Father,
Help us to see you that much better so that we can follow Your ways.
I ask that You would give us hearts to follow you, so that we too can know the goodness of honey from the rock.
