To Give or Not to Give? That is the question.

I had a hit of a funny scenario run through my head this morning.

It was the end of a church service, after there had been a give away of some chocolates, meant for the children. When all the children had received their gift, there was still some chocolates left over. These were then being given to the few random lucky people.

I was fortunate enough to be standing in front of one such person, giving away the chocolates. (No, I hadn’t rugby tackled everyone out of the way to reach this position. 🙂 )

I could see on the face of the chocolate giver that they were trying to decide whether to hand me some chocolate, or not?

My thoughts then went to, “I am a member of this church, I do give to this church, as such I have no problem receiving a gift of a bit of chocolate as I have effectively already paid for it, in effect.”

That’s were the scene ended. I told you it was a bit of a funny scenario. 🙂

It has left me thinking that my thoughts were true and valid, but also irrelevant for the question of whether to give or not to give?

I didn’t actually have a need for the chocolate.
Yes I like chocolate and it would be nice to receive some, but I still didn’t need it. Could there have been someone else who could have appreciated it more than me, who actually might have had a need for it?
Could this have been the question going through the chocolate givers mind instead of, are you worthy enough to receive the chocolate?
Could the chocolate givers thoughts have been, “Who do You want me to give this chocolate to Lord?”

When we do give, then what is our motivation for doing so?
Do we only give to those who are worthy to receive a gift?
Just to those who are family and friends?
To those who have fallen onto hard times but are of good character?
Or do we give, just simply to bless someone who we are led to bless, and thus, then please Our Loving Heavenly Father?

Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Are you willing to be filled to and beyond overflowing?

I made a cup of tea this morning. I made a mistake and put too much water in. 🙂
When I added the milk, the mug was full to capacity and overflowed slightly. It spilled even more as I tried to gently stir the milk in.

Then the thought came, “To be filled to overflowing, means to be so filled, that you just spill over.”

I made a bit of a mess with the tea.
I needed to clear the overflow up. No problem really, as it was only a small mess. But a bit messy it was, all the same.

So, are we willing to be filled to overflowing by Our Lord God Almighty?

Romans 15:13
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 23:5
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.

Luke 6:45
45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

If we are going to be overflowing, then it’s going to be better if we overflow the goodness of God.

But are we willing to become overflowing?

To be filled to overflowing could mean to become a little bit (or a lot) foolish in our own eyes.

King David knew something of this when he danced before the Lord with all his might, in 2 Samuel 6:14.
Michal, David’s wife, saw David dancing and looked down upon him and despised him in her heart. 2 Samuel 6:16.
In 2 Samuel 6:20 she then tries to rebuke David.

David’s response is:
2 Samuel 6:21-22
21 David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord. 22 Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!”

So, being filled to overflowing could mean to end up looking a little or a lot foolish, but it will also mean knowing a joy that goes beyond the normal.
An overflowing of joy!

Does anyone want to say yes to that one …..?
I do!
I want my default to be, to say “YES” to my Lord God, and not no.
I want to be more concerned about what He wants, and less about what I want.

I was just in the bathroom, shaking the excess water from my hands, “Oi, you’re making me wet” my wife then complains to me.
“It’s just the overflow you are experiencing” I reply. 🙂 (We had just been talking about the overflow idea.)
She was not too amused, and was happy when I left the room. 🙂

How do we respond when we come into contact with people who are overflowing?

Whoa, calm down a bit there?
Can you rein that in a bit?
I can’t keep up with you there?
I’ll just stay over here, and possibly watch from afar?

….. or how about…..

Whoa, that looks good, can I have some?
Let’s keep this fire going, and then see just where it goes to?
I want to be close to this and get on board with what’s happening?

Which set of responses do you think is more you, at the moment?
Which set of responses do you want to be like?
Is a change needed?

Proverbs 3:5-10
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Do What you Know, How to Do!

This is a thought that has been slowly building in me over time.

It’s origins started from a message from Elevation Church which Steven Furtick gave.

If you search YouTube for, “God’s Got Your Back | Pastor Steven Furtick | Elevation Church”, then you should soon find the orginal message.

I’ll come back to the picture that Steven shared in a bit. But first another thought that is intertwined with this thought. “Why is it that new christians can see theirs prayers answered so much more quickly than those who are a bit longer in the tooth?”

There are probably different variations on that thought, but they generally go along the lines of, new christians just have an excitement about them. Things just seem to happen for them that much quicker.

If you are not careful, then you could end up thinking, “It’s not fair, why can’t I have some of that?”

Some of the answer to that question might be coming in this post…….. possibly??? 🙂

During Stevens message, he showed a video of one of his children’s fist steps, as recorded by Holy, his wife. Holy was excited and giving great encouragement. “Go on” and “Well done” were probably among the words she said.

Any parent will probably have experienced a similar time when their children took their first steps.

When the video ended, Steven then asked his son to join him on the stage.

His son stood up, walked to the stage, went up a few steps and then across the stage to where Steven was.

Steven made a couple of comments along the lines of, “no cheering for them steps”, and “that was more technical than what you just saw on the video, it even included going up stairs”.

Of course no one cheered, it was just a grown man having a walk. Who is going to cheer someone for doing something that everybody takes for granted?

When we start something new for the first time, then more encouragement is needed, as such more encouragement can be given. But as we progress and hopefully become more grown up, then some things are accepted as being so. Walking being one of those basic things.

Could you imagine what it would be like if your mum cheered your every step?
“Well done you, you took another step, go on keep going!”
“Mum! I’m just going to the toilet, can you please give me some peace!” 🙂

It would be beyond ridiculous, and exhausting for both parties.

As we grow, we hopefully grow into maturity, becoming older and wiser and as such knowing what is the right way to go. We still need guidance, but the level of that guidance changes.

Back to Steven and his son. Steven gets his son to walk on the stage. But he takes a different position to where Holy was. Holy was in front of her son, in the video. Steven goes behind his son, then says, “This is my way, walk in it.” He then caries on doing this, changing his son”s direction so that he doesn’t walk off the stage. “This is my way, walk in it.” Staying just behind him. (Steven does this as a picture of a christian who is growing into maturity.)

Put the two pictures together and you have two stages of a person’s life. When they first start out, and when they are older, and hopefully wiser.

Could this be part of why new christians apparently see more answers to prayers that much more readily?
Because they need it?
But as we grow, we should then be able to stand on our own two feet that much better, so are we then expected to do just that?
I’m not talking about being fully self reliant, we all need to be rooted and trusting in Our Lord God. But for the simple things where we should be able to do …… . Then shouldn’t we just do …… .

This thought could be summed up as “Do what you Know, How to Do!”

Sometimes, as christians, we can want to know exactly what it is that we are meant to do before we take the next step. Down to the smallest details. Sometimes, do we just need to do the next step?

How silly would it be if a carpenter who needed to join two pieces of wood together, wouldn’t take the next step, just because they didn’t know which nail to use. Could you imagine it?
“Lord, please tell me, which nail should I use?”
The answer comes back as, “Any one of the nails from the big box in front of you! They are all good!”

Could it sometimes be that when we ask, “Which way should we go?” We don’t hear the answer because the answer comes back as, “There are many routes open to you, choose one and I shall be with you. If you go astray, then I’ll nudge you back to where you should be.” ?

Could it be that we can be given such an answer as above, but dismiss it, because it’s not what we want to hear?
Because we are waiting for the exact right way to go?
The exact nail to pick up?

Sometimes we may be directed to use a particular nail, for a reason that we might or might not know about, but are there other times when we just need to do something, instead of endlessly waiting for the exact right move?

It’s good to wait on Our Lord God Almighty. But if He is telling us to just do something, then shouldn’t we just do the something?
Hence my starting thought, “Do What you Know, How to Do!”

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

An Eviction Notice is Served.

I’ve been reading through Nehemiah just recently. A part of it stood out to me, which I will share here.

To set the stage, the Israelites had been taken into exile.
During the books of Nehemiah and Ezra, the Israelites had been returning to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the temple and the city walls had been taking place. Then in Nehemiah 13:4-9 the following happens.

Before this, Eliashib the priest had been put in charge of the storerooms of the house of our God. He was closely associated with Tobiah, and he had provided him with a large room formerly used to store the grain offerings and incense and temple articles, and also the tithes of grain, new wine and olive oil prescribed for the Levites, musicians and gatekeepers, as well as the contributions for the priests.

But while all this was going on, I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I had returned to the king. Some time later I asked his permission and came back to Jerusalem. Here I learned about the evil thing Eliashib had done in providing Tobiah a room in the courts of the house of God. I was greatly displeased and threw all Tobiah’s household goods out of the room. I gave orders to purify the rooms, and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.

Nehemiah didn’t mess about. He threw Tobiah out along with his possessions. After all, this was a room that was meant for God’s purposes and not to be lived in.

But how did Tobiah get to be living in the room in the first place?

The Israelites were taken into exile and the articles that was in the room were carried away in the process. Hence the room was left empty.
Could it be that Eliashib saw an empty room and also saw that Tobiah needed somewhere to live?
Could he have then put the two together and allowed Tobiah to live where he shouldn’t have? After all, it’s only an empty room, not being used?
But the room was meant for a different purpose.

When Nehemiah saw what was happening, he knew what was happening and what should have been happening. He served an eviction notice to Tobiah and purified the room, and then restored the room to its intended purpose.

It made me think, are there things in our lives that are meant for God’s purposes but we didn’t know what they were. To us, it was effectively an empty room, that we have then made use of for our own benefit?
Have we then come to like the use of the so called empty room and what we have done with it?
But is it in line with God’s purposes?
Are there area’s in our lives where we need to serve an eviction notice so that God’s purpose can then be realised in our lives?

As I said, it made me think.
To give something up that is useful to us can be difficult. “Look, this is useful” we can say, and there can be a truth to such a statement.
But is there a better use for …… ?

Are we willing to hear what Our Lord God will say to us if He tries to serve an eviction notice on …… ?

We might not like it when we get served an eviction notice on something, but what matters more to us?
Our own agenda or Our Lord God’s?
Will we be willing to follow His prompting when He asks us to hand …… over to Him?
Will we allow Him to clear out the clutter and then wait to see what He will do with the space?

Psalm 139:23-24

23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Have you ever felt that you have bitten off more than you can chew?

A few weeks back I wrote about whether to take route 1 or route 2. Short version, I wanted to take route 1, but kept feeling that route 2 should be the way to go.

Well I’ve tried route 2, and so far it appears to be the better route. But it’s a whole lot more challenging, leaving me feeling as if I have bitten off more than I’m able to chew.

It’s all a bit exciting and nervous all at the same time. It is fun, of sorts, but the nagging thought of “Just what are you doing?” seems to never be too far away.

l will try to share a short version of something that has recently happened.

I was working on some maths for the project just before a meeting with a professional person. During the meeting I mentioned in passing that I was working on the maths.
They then asked, “Could you send the maths to me?”
I barely thought about it, and then just said “yes.” Then I did just that. This is were it went very wrong. The maths was wrong, it was complete nonsense. I now liken it to the scribblings of a 2 year old. I quickly sent a second corrected version (so I thought), that also turned out your be wrong.

In the end I had to send a message stating, “Please ignore the maths, it’s all wrong, I need some pondering time to work it out properly.” All the while wondering why I didn’t work it all out properly before sending anything off in the first place. Wondering if I could even actually work the maths out?
Hence adding to my feeling of “What am I doing?” and “Have I bitten off more than I can chew?” 🙂

I have now worked out the maths, and it’s a lot more simple than I was making it out to be. This is the difference between knowing and not knowing.

So why am I sharing this little tale here?

All along a small thought has been playing through my head along the lines of, “When you step out and follow the prompting of your Heavenly Father, then you can find that you can quickly leave your comfort zone.”

When I first sent the wrong maths off, that was the start of an uncomfortable time for me. I sent out not one but two wrong versions of the maths. I then had to admit that I hadn’t worked it out properly yet.
How foolish and stupid I felt. How insecure I felt. How quickly my peace left me as I frantically tried to work out something that was just outside of my grasp, wondering if I was ever going to take hold of, that which I needed.

The only peace I got through that time was when I stopped looking at the problem and instead looked to my Heavenly Father.
Yes, I did ask for His help. I even asked a few friends to pray into the situation, that an answer would come, which it did.
The words of a certain song took on a new meaning to me. “Oh my God I need you now.” Oh how much more we need our God as we step into the unknown.

Looking back now it all looks rather trivial, but it didn’t seem very trivial at the time. At the time I just felt as though I was completely out of my depth. That I was over reaching to something that was beyond me.

Another thought that keeps coming back to me is “When we step into something that Our Lord leads us to, then how can we end up feeling?”

A bit out of our depth?
That we have bitten off more than we can chew?
Like a fraud who is trying to reach for something that is just out of our reach?
Like we are well outside of our comfort zone?

The answer to all the above was, “yes” for me. (Before the answer was given.)

How do we cope when we are outside of our comfort zone?

Will we become frantic and a bit (or a lot) foolish?
Possibly?
Whose strength and understanding will we call on?
Just our own? Our family and friends?
How about calling on The Lord Our God’s strength for …… ? It is available! If we will just seek Him and His understanding.

If He calls us to do something, then He will equip us to do that which He calls us to do. It just might not be quite how or when we want it to be. It will be in His timing, if we keep in step with Him. What we think of as a foolish mistake can end up being His success, if we remain in Him and His ways, our Loving Heavenly Father.

So will we be willing to step out of our comfort zone, when He asks us to do so?
Will we be willing to look a little (or a lot) foolish for Our Lord God?
How much of ourselves are we willing to place into His hands and His ways?
Will we be willing to follow His prompting, to wherever He will lead us to go?

The seed in the Ground

A seed in the ground needs several things for it to spring into life.

First it needs to be planted in good soil.

It then needs water and sunlight.

An idea given to you from God can be like a seed in the ground.

Has it fallen on good soil, or are there too many weeds around to strangle the idea so it never reaches it’s potential?

Is the soil of your life well watered enough to encourage this idea to grow into something or is the ground dry from a drought?

When you share this idea with others how will they treat it?

Will they water and tend it with you or will they just walk on by, or will they trample it under foot as they pass on by?

How will you treat some one else when they share an idea that they have, with you?

Will you be the one to walk on by or even trample someone else’s vision into the ground?

Or will you be the one to help to water someone else’s vision?

Not all things which grow are sometimes wanted.
If an enemy has thrown weeds in amongst us, then they need to be dealt with, but in a proper manner.
Instead of just pulling it up and throwing it away (possibly causing hurt), could we just choose not to water this one?
Hearing Fathers voice will always be the best option.

Father,
Help us to know what are seeds and what are weeds.
Help us to nurture the ideas that You lead us to.
Help us to hear You, so that we can be good soil for Your ideas.
Help us to hear You when You want us to be the water for someone else’s idea.
Please, be the One who leads and guides us in all that we do.
Amen.

Sometimes, it’s all about the Timing.

Have you ever had those times when something has got you so excited, that you’ve just had to share …… , but when you do… , well, people just don’t seem to be as excited as you?

If you are anything like me, then you could end up feeling like, “Don’t you get this?” Or it could leave you thinking, “Why are you trying to burst my balloon?”
I’m starting to think that both of those responses could be words from the enemy, trying to pull us down and stop us in our tracks.

Most of the time, it could just be that the timing is wrong for the person that you are sharing with, who isn’t sharing your excitement.

A picture has come to mind about this.
It’s a picture of heavy artillery being fired at the enemy.

Depending on your position, your perspective could be very different.
For the one who is firing the artillery, there’s lots of excitement. There’s all the action of doing, and all the noise as the shells are sent on their way.

The ones on the receiving end will have a different experience.
Friends will be going, “OH YES, Bring it on. A little to the left or right and you’ll be right on target!”
Enemies could very much going, “OT All, time to be going.” (If they are able to.)

If you under the path of the artillery, then you might see or hear it as it goes on it’s way, but again in this position there could be many responses.
“Yeah, go get em!”,
“What was that!?”,
“Did something go by there??”,
“I must rember to pick up……. , oh, and then there’s ………”,
“Oh dear, who’s making all that noise again?”
Could be but a few possible responses.

Your position (and viewpoint) could be very different at any given moment.

Your viewpoint could be very different, if it’s friendly or enemy fire. Could it possibly even be friendly fire that’s mistaken as enemy fire, or vice versa? Remember, The Lord can turn all things for good.

I’m going you assume that it’s friendly fire that we are talking about here.
If you are under the line of fire, then how will you react to the artillery fire overhead?
Will you even be aware of it?
Will you be annoyed by it?
Will you cheer it on its way?
Or could you even be part of those who direct it onto its target? Intercessery prayer….. anybody???

We all have a role to play!
The question is, will you know, and do your bit?
Will you endeavour to not take offence at another’s actions, just because they are different to where you are at?
Can we all look that much more closely to what Our Heavenly Father wants us to do, and then follow His prompting? Can we try to not trip up our brothers and sisters, who are trying to do likewise?

Lord God Almighty,
You alone know what is the Best course of action to take at any given moment.
Help us all to hear, know and follow your ways, all the days of our lives.
For You are Our Loving Lord God Almighty!
Amen.

Stop Listening to No.

Have you ever found that when you try to step into something new, then “No” can be hiding just around the corner?

“No” can be a bit of a tricky thing at times.
Instead of just standing in front of us and shouting “No”, directly at us, it tries to persuade us to not bother, by as many different means as it can muster….

“Do you really want you do that?”
“You don’t know what you are doing?”
“Who are you to do that?”
“No one is going to listen, so why even bother?”
“You’re so tired, just settle down and take a break.”

The above are just a few of the many schemes that “No” tries to throw at us, and all the more so if we try to step into something that Our Heavenly Father wants us to step into.

The question then becomes, “Who are we going you listen to, “No” or Our Loving Heavenly Father?”

John 10:27-28
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Will we be counted as His sheep?
Ones who hear his voice, know that it is His voice, and then follow His voice?

I’m reminded of a thought that I had some time ago. It goes….

When The Lord Our God speaks to us, then what can the easiest word be? …., No?
No means no change, no action required. No changing of our thinking. No means, no changing of the status quo, no rocking the boat or upsetting anybody.

When The Lord Our God speaks to us, then what can the hardest word be? …., Yes?
Yes could mean doing something. Yes could mean being available when you are not ready to be available, when it’s inconvenient to you. Yes could mean changing how you see or think about something. Yes could mean taking some kind of action, when you don’t quite know what it is that you are doing. Yes could mean causing upset and disruption around us. Yes can indeed be a very challenging word, when The Lord Our God asks us to do something.

What could be the consequences of replying “no” to The Lord Our God, when He asks something of us?
No change?
No movement?
Everything staying just as it is?

What could be the consequences of replying “yes” to The Lord Our God, when He asks something of us?
Change to a situation?
Breaking down of barriers that have been in place for too long?
Break through in ….. ?
His Kingdom coming here on the earth, as it is in heaven?

Where do we want to be when The Lord Our God asks us to do …….. ?
Do we Want to be saying no or yes, to The Lord our God?

If we reply with a “no”, then Our Lord God will accept our “no”.
He has given us free will, which means the freedom to choose after all.

But what if we hear Him and we want say yes to Him, but no is just throwing …… at us, then can we change our no to a yes?

I think that with His help, we can change a “no” to a “YES”.
We can ask for His help.
We could try asking,
“Lord, if this is You, then please help me to know it, that much more.
If You want me to do ….. then please give me the strength and guidance for the next step.
Help me to say Yes to You and to follow Your ways, even when I am unsure of what they are, providing that it is You that I’m following and not just my own thoughts.”

John 10:27-28
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

He Who IS All Powerful, is able to stroke the butterfly wing.

OK, I know that the title of this post sounds a bit funny, but I also think it is very much so true.

Our God is Awesome!
Great and Mighty in Power!
He made the heavens and the earth. All that is seen and not seen. He set the stars in their place. He formed the earth.
The might and power of the volcano, He directed.
We can only start to marvel at how Great Our God is!

Yet this is not the whole picture. For our God also has Great Control!
Our God who Has Absolute Power, also Has Infinite Control.
He can work on the most delicate of things and not crush them.
He is even able to stroke the butterfly wing, and Not damage it.
He can even do one better than that. He can touch the damaged butterfly wing and bring a healing touch!

Our God IS Awesome!
Able to heal the broken hearted, with the most delicate of touches.

We just need to say yes to Him. For He does wait for our permission.
If we say no He will listen to us.
But He yearns for us to say Yes to Him. He’s just waiting to bring a healing touch to where it is needed. His touch might not be what we want, but it will be what we need.

So will we say yes to the One who is able to touch the damaged butterfly wing and bring a healing touch so that we will be able to fly, once more.

Lord God Almighty,
Please, bring Your touch of peace to all who need it.
To the broken hearted, bring Your peace.
To the crushed in spirit, bring Your peace.
To those who don’t know where to turn, please bring Your peace.
For You are able to make the difference.
Amen.

If you need to, then please dwell on the above prayer for as long as Your Lord God directs you to.

Should I take route 1 or route 2?

Last week I wrote about how I felt like I had fallen flat onto my face. I’m now thinking that it was more of a stumble than a fall.

I effectively hit a road block that has caused me to reassess what route I need to take. You see, I actually have two ideas that I would like to try to do something with.

Route 1 was the route that I was more invested in.
It came first, and as such it is more developed than route 2, which I have been playing with, a little bit.
With route 1 I have a plan of action (of sorts). I kind of think I know how to go about putting route 1 into action. Route 2 is a different story.
I can see that route 2 could be better than route 1, but I don’t have a plan of action for route 2, just at the moment.
So why is it that I kind of have a niggling feeling at the back of my head that route 2 should be the one that I should be trying to work on?

I understand route 1. I can’t quite say the same for route 2 (yet).
I do like both routes but route 1 would be my preferred choice, but I keep hitting stumbling blocks with it.
Is it time to put route 1 on the shelf for the moment and take a look at route 2 instead?
OK, let’s just try that then. Let’s just see if I can take the next step on route 2 and then see where it takes me???

Have you guessed where this next part of the post is going yet. 🙂

When it comes to following Our Lord God Almighty, then how well do we do when it comes to following His thoughts over our own thoughts?

If you are like me, then our own thoughts can be easier to hear.
I can perceive them and see where they are going. There’s an amount of security and solidity to them. (Even if they can lead me into trouble of my own making, at times.)

When it comes to hearing my Heavenly Father’s thoughts, it can be a different story.

I might get a good solid idea of what or where I should be going with something, but most of the time it seems that as I do, then I start to understand.

It’s not my preferred way of doing things.
I would like to have a good solid plan before I set out.
I would like to have some confidence that my efforts are going to be worth while, that I’m not just wasting my time.

But if my Heavenly Father is leading to go down a route that I am unsure of….. then will I trust Him enough to follow His leading?

I’m not talking about following every little thought that enters my head.
That would be a recipe for disaster, pushed and pulled by the wind and tide to end up who knows where? 🙂

I’m talking about following His prompting, when I know that it is His prompting. Even if it is going against my wants and wishes.
Will I be able to trust my Lord God’s ways, over my own.
I’m hoping that the answer is ultimately “yes”, even though some times it’s not so easy to do so.

Father,
I do acknowledge that You are Lord God Almighty.
I do know, that You know, what is Best.
Please help me to know Your voice that much better, so that I can follow You that much more closely.
Amen.

John 10:27-28

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
