Have you ever read something, to then be so upset by it?
Have you then ever thought, “Why am I so upset by this?”
A lot of the time, we may know why we are upset by ….. as it could be obvious that it is just nonsense that is just insulting. Hence the upset.
But are there times, when we just can’t put our finger on the thing that is causing the upset?
When it’s not just nonsense that is just insulting, but it unsettles us all the same, for whatever reason?
A reason that just seems to be outside of our grasp?
It can be all the more annoying, if we can kind of see something to the …… and possibly in part (or more fully) agree with the …… that we have just read. (Or even heard.)
How will we respond in such instances?
Bury it?
Turn away?
If I don’t look at it, then I’m not going to be upset by it?
Sometimes, this can be the right and valid choice to make.
But are there other times, when it could be the wrong choice to make?
Are there times when, if we just ignore the thing that unsettles us, that it is just us burying our heads in the sand?
Hoping that the trouble will just pass us by, and not cause us any harm or upset?
If we do act in this way, is this just us taking the the path of denial?
If I don’t look at it, then I don’t need to deal with it?
Are there times when God upset us, with the things that He brings to our minds?
How will we react to the thoughts that we don’t like, that actually come from Our Lord God Almighty?
Will we even recognise them as thoughts from Him?
Can we learn what His voice sounds like, so that we can then know, the difference between what we should ignore, and what we shouldn’t ignore?
Are we even willing to try to hear Our Lord God’s words to us, even if they do unsettle us?
John 10:27-28
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

If you are struggling with the idea of Our Loving Heavenly Father, bringing an unsettling word to His people, then have a read of the letters sent to the churches in Revelation. The letter sent to the church in Laodicea, is a bit of a challenging letter to receive. It can be found in, Revelation 3:14-22
One of the reasons,of why God could bring unsettling thoughts to us can also be found in Revelation.
Revelation 3:19-22
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
